ANIMAL PROTECTION
A U.S.-based nonprofit animal welfare organization founded in 1866 with the mission of “providing effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.” It engages in a broad range of activities including rescuing animals from abuse or neglect, conducting investigations and legal advocacy to strengthen animal protection laws, supporting spay/neuter programs and affordable veterinary care, operating or assisting shelters and rehabilitation centers, and responding to disasters or large-scale animal welfare crises.
